Terrazzo is a highly popular material used in many designs –here we can give you some insight into the process and show how we can help you give your project a clean and contemporary look.
Terrazzo is a composite material poured in place or precast, which is used for floor, base and wall treatments. It consists of marble, quartz, granite, glass or other suitable chips, sprinkled or unsprinkled, and poured with a binder that is cementitious, chemical or a combination of both. Terrazzo is cured, ground and polished to a smooth surface or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface.
You can see these floors in action at the Locke Hotel, Broken Wharf near the Millennium Bridge in London.
In the bar area the terrazzo tile is laid and the Terco grinder and polisher will go over this surface several times.
